American singer, songwriter and producer born in Ocilla, Georgia but generally connected to the NY/NJ area. He sang lead for Little Anthony & The Imperials prior to learning production from Raynoma Liles Gordy. Kerr wrote for and/or produced soul artists including Linda Jones, The Whatnauts, The Moments, Manhattans, Lonnie Youngblood, The Escorts, Phyllis Hyman,, Eddie Fisher and especially for the roster of Sylvia Robinson’s All Platinum label.
