Larry Dixon’s musical world started aged 15 with an audition at the old Chess recording company on Chicago’s south side, gained by winning a radio contest at Chicago radio station W.V.O.N.  Along with his friend James Hilliard, their group The Explanations received a verbal 2 year contract to be managed by Chicago’s legendary Jerry O

Following a stint in the US Army, Larry set up his own record label in Chicago, LAD Productions, releasing an LP that contained his hit soul single Star Time. 

Larry continues to write and record new music and his entire back catalogue has recently been re-released and is available to purchase at www.itstillmusic.com
